100 meter Race
Boys
Dale Morgan (Taft) won the 100 meter race in 10.80. Stallon Watson from Poly (blue and yellow) placed second with a 10.82! And Deanthony Thomas [freshman on lane 4] placed third in this event. These 3 people now are going to the State Championships race.
Girls
Nijah Nelms, from Birmingham H. S. (lane 5) won the 100 meter race and qualified to State finals in 11. 92. Cara Jones from Washington Lane 6 in red) placed 2nd in 12.36.And Brandi Lloyd from Birmingham (lane 4) placed 3rd in 12.43 . All qualifiers for State Finals.
200 meter Race
Boys
On this race Devin Forte (Red) from Washington Prep won the 200 meter race in 21.70. Deanthony Thomas from Crenshaw placed second in 21.75 . And Antwan Titus, also from Crenshaw placed third in 21.92 .All qualifiers for State Finals.
Girls
Nijah Nelms (middle) once again wins the 200 meter race in 24.71. And finds another reason to go to State Finals at Cerritos College. An excellent junior from Birmingham, Areana Anthony (left) placed 2nd in 25.53 . And Danielle Thomas from Washington (red) placed 3rd in 25.61 . All qualifiers for State Finals.
